Catholic Relief Services

The work of Catholic Relief Services (CRS) serving the poor and vulnerable overseas continues to be significantly disrupted by the recent Stop Work Order on almost all foreign aid as they review State Department and USAID programs between now and April 20. Many thanks to those of you who have continued to email, call or work to schedule meetings with your Members of Congress on this issue and invite others in your communities to contact their elected officials. Amidst this challenging time, we remain committed and rooted in the gospel and our mission to assist the poor and vulnerable overseas. Given the changing context, CRS Rice Bowl is as important as ever to spread the mission of CRS and to serve the poor and vulnerable overseas. The most impactful action you can continue to take at this time is to get as many people in your community to write to their Members of Congress using the following action alert: http://support.crs.org/act/foreign-aid-operations.

1,000,000 Acts of Mercy Challenge

We are excited to announce the long-awaited roll out of the 1,000,000 Works of Mercy Challenge (part of the Pastoral Plan, Called to Conversion and a 2025 Jubilee Year of Hope initiative). Bishop Parkes is challenging everyone in the five counties to renew their understanding of the corporal and spiritual works of mercy and then together complete one million works of mercy by Advent 2025.

To record your individual act of mercy, go to www.mercy2025.org.
